Board Chairperson – Christopher Dean is an independent Director who joined Noweyung’s Board in July 2001. He has 16 years of Board experience and is the second longest serving Chairperson in Noweyung’s history. Chris is a self-employed Brick Paving and Landscaping contractor. He has many years of experience in a variety of community service organisations, including office bearer roles. Chris is a Life Member of Noweyung. Responsibilities: Board Chairperson; Chairperson of the Management Review Committee; and a member of the Audit Committee.
Deputy Board Chairperson – Chris Barry is an independent Director who joined Noweyung in 2014. Chris currently works for the state government in Emergency Management for natural disasters, he has a long history of Bairnsdale School Councils and he is currently board member at Bairnsdale Regional Health Service. Chris is also a Director and Treasurer of two other not-for-profit organisations. Responsibilities: Member of the Management Review Committee.
Sue Roberts is an independent Director who joined the Board in November 2007. She has 10 years of experience with Noweyung. Sue is a registered Division 1 Nurse (BHA UNSW) and has a Graduate Certificate in Diabetes Education and Healthcare. Retired, she has over 40 years experience working in primary, disability and aged care services, local government and management. Sue is also a fromer Director of the Bairnsdale Regional Health Service. Responsibilities: Deputy Chairperson; and a member of the Policy Committee.
Terry Martin is the second longest serving independent Noweyung Director. He joined the Board in September 2003 giving him 14 years of experience with Noweyung. Retired, he has over 40 years’ experience in public administration, manufacturing, logistics, and more recently in community services. Responsibilities: Chairperson of the Policy Committee.
Evan Bryant is an independent Director who joined Noweyung in October 2007. He has 10 years’ experience on the Board. Evan is a self-employed Optometrist who holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Optometry and a Licentiate of Optometric Science. He has over 37 years of experience in small business and involvement in community services. Responsibilities: Member of the Management Review Committee; and member of the Policy Committee.
Geoff Cassidy joined the Board in April 2010 and he has 7 years of experience with Noweyung. He is an independent Board Director. Retired, Geoff was formerly employed by the East Gippsland Shire Council, and he has over 26 years’ experience in local government as well as 20 years of experience in banking. Geoff also has many years’ experience on other community service committees. Responsibilities: Member of the Audit Committee.
An independent Director, Ros Kleinitz joined the Board in March 2011, having 6 years’ experience with Noweyung. Ros is a retired Bank Officer who brings strong financial skills to the Board. She has over 34 years of experience in banking and finance. Ros also has many years’ experience working with other committees in the community.
As a mother of a Noweyung participant, Denise Jonkers is a non-independent Director. Denise joined the Board in April 2011 and has 5 years of experience as a Director with Noweyung. She operates a local family business giving her some practical small business skills and knowledge. Responsibilities: Member of the Policy Committee
Geoff Frith is the newest member of the Board and has lived in Bairnsdale since arriving in Australia in 1975 Geoff is very committed to the region of Gippsland and was the long-time proprietor of Geoff’s Camera House and Creative Pictures, both Bairnsdale based retail and manufacturing businesses. He was a past director of Raleru Ltd, Sydney based importer/wholesaler and marketing provider and is a Life member of the Association of Apex Clubs in Australia with many years of involvement in community activities over several years.
