Short Courses – Spring 2023

We are offering pre accredited short courses in partnership with East Gippsland Learn Local, Paynesville Neighbourhood Centre (PNC). The all day sessions are run one day per week, for duration of course, by qualified PNC trainers with guest speakers included for relevant topics. Participants in the courses are supported by Noweyung Staff to attend and achieve success. Noweyung participants can add this to their existing timetable, or swap from their usual activity.

The courses will be held at PNC in Paynesville, with transport provided by bus for $10 per day – (this can be billed to your NDIS Plan if required.

Tackling Technology – Sept 2023 – 3 Sessions Course Cost: $10

This 3 session course focuses on how to use devices effectively and safely, such as phones and tablets. Course content (not limited to): Internet safety/scams, Online banking, My Gov, Online etiquette plus more.

Financial Wellbeing – Oct 2023 – 5 Sessions Course Cost: Free

This 5 session course covers all aspects of financial wellbeing with content including:

Budgeting, Relationships and money, Goal setting, Talking about money, Mindful spending, Managing debt, E-safety, Financial abuse plus more.

Short Courses – Coming in 2024

Women’s Health and Wellbeing

A course for women around relationships, hygiene, appropriate dressing, personal space (and when/how to speak up when uncomfortable), etiquette, accepting compliments and more with guest speakers.

Getting Ready to Work – Trade

This courses focus on Employability skills, as well as, building practical skills related to work in Trades. Employability Skills are often called ‘soft skills’. This means helping people to get up-to-speed on things such as teamwork, communication, problem-solving, using your initiative, learning on-the-job, planning and technology. This course includes guest speakers and site visits.

Getting Ready to Volunteer

This courses focuses on skills related to volunteering. Many of the same skills that are taught in Getting Ready for Work are required for volunteering, but this course also includes information based on what it means to be a volunteer, what is expected, rights etc. This course includes guest speakers and site visits.
