Noweyung acknowledges the traditional custodians of country across Australia, and we pay our respects to Elders past, present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded – this was, and always will be, Aboriginal land.

NAIDOC week is an opportunity for all Australians, both Indigenous and non-Indigenous, to come together to acknowledge and celebrate the voices and stories of the oldest continuous living culture in the world.

This year’s NAIDOC Week theme is a call to action for non-Indigenous allies to stand in solidarity with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander People, to work together for change, and as always it is a opportunity for non-Indigenous Australians to learn the history of this country and its traditional owners and reflect on how you can be involved.

Be respectful and open to learning, speak up when you hear someone say something inappropriate, be brave and be bold and expand your knowledge about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture.
